Caboolture Custom Vehicle Spectacular

The day had arrived for Damian to take Booger Mobile to the 2013 Caboolture Custom Vehicle Spectacular...  Having had a successful test drive on Friday night, Booger Mobile was ready and rearing to go Saturday morning...

Damian in a facing-the-sun-serious-selfie...

Heading up the highway, Damian spotted a paraglider coming in to land at Caboolture Airport...

At the car show, Damian used the Camp Quality vertical banners to mark the entrance...

One of the tarp banners was hung on the back of the bleachers near the stage...

And the other, on a fence near where the monster truck was on the back of a truck.

Lined up with some nice VW Samba Kombi's...

And the sign is out...

A couple of arty-farty shots for the benefit of one of Damian's friends who is into photography...

Shiny!!

Window-reflection selfie with shot of entrant number... CHECK!!

This Variety Bash VW Kombi was there - apparently it's for sale, and has a WRX engine!!

A few more cars arrived...

Booger Mobile was still shiny!!

Trucks lined up at the show...

This one had spectacular paint work...

Hot rods arrived...

As did the crowds!!

Optimus Prime...

The monster truck came down off the back of the truck and parked up on the grass.

Subtlety wasn't the key for the police officer on the right - plain clothes, but accoutrements (including firearm) in plain sight...  Task Force Hydra one would assume...

The day progressed...  It seemed that numbers were down on last year...  This may have been partly caused by the huge police presence on the road leading into the show - some reports had as many as 30 officers there...

The Fat Pigs played...

Some of the custom bikes on show...

How about this for a potential esCarpade car???

The donation bucket has a ride on the monster truck...

These blokes were carving wood into statues with chainsaws and angle grinders...

Very talented!!  This was to become the trophy for best bike in show!!

Well, what's that custom bike doing on that scissor lift?

Feels comfy to sit on...

Uh oh... it's started!!

Ohhhh... burn out time!!

Up, up, UP!!

And back down again!!

The nice, custom Harley is now very, very dirty!!

Entrant number 1 in the proper burn out comp...

Damian and Jason posing for a selfie!!

Entrant number 2...

Entrant number 3...

Uh oh...  Entrant number 3 appears to have dropped something other than rubber on the concrete!!

Who won the burn out comp?  Who cares!!  It was awesome nonetheless!!

People waiting for the announcement of winners from the car show...

Trophies handed out, the crowd and entrants exited...  Quickly!!

Time for some late afternoon shots of Booger Mobile!!

Work it, work it baby!!

Oh look, a rainbow!!

Booger Mobile getting lonely...

Driving back home...

Hat-hair selfie!!

And back in Damian's driveway, with lights flashing...

Front lights looking awesome!!

The 2013 Caboolture Custom Vehicle Spectacular came to a close... Damian got some donations in the bucket while he wandered around (and stood at the front gate for a few hours), and hopefully there will be an additional donation once the finances are worked out - although the crowd numbers were certainly lower than last year, so time will tell.

All in all, it was a great day, with some good vehicles and bikes on show, great music and a fun, family friendly atmosphere.  Hopefully next year will be even bigger and better!!

  1. Well done Damian it looks like it was another great day at the Caboolture Custom Vehicle Spectacular, and as always the Booger Mobile fitted right in with all the other cars and bikes.
I love the way they do the bike burnouts, thanks for the fab pictures of them, as well all the other pictures on the blog.
Real shame about the police presents as it tends to have a bad effect on the crowds, but it looks like everyone who did get there enjoyed the day.
