esCarpade 2016 - Day 6 - Ballarat to Rochester to Deniliquin

Up bright and early in Ballarat, it was time for some maintenance checks...

Bit of tightening...

Or is Damian being run over?

Peekaboo!!

Heading off to get fuel, then breakfast...

Check the oil...  Damian was also going to check the transmission fluid at this point, but decided to wait until lunch time when the engine and transmission would be at operating temperature...  This would prove to be a costly decision!!

Breakfast venue... Ballarat Golf Club.

Teletubbies Land Rover appeared to be wrapped up for safe keeping!!

Cars heading out onto the track...

Ben doing the school visit driver briefing...

Heading off to the school visit...

Luigi wiping Booger Mobile's nose...

Filing into the school...

Booger time!!

With the school visit done and dusted, it was time to head out onto the track!

One of the cars came across an injured cyclist lying on the road...  rendered assistance and called the Ambos...  Good work!!

Warm, dusty conditions today!!

Beautiful old car - looked to be the gentleman's daily driver!

Dual selfie...

And that's why you obey a give way sign!!

As decided earlier, upon arriving at lunch in Rochester Damian checked the auto transmission fluid, found it was low, and added more.

After a delicious lunch, the boys headed out to their car to find that someone had left them a little gift...  Smiley faces!!

The view from inside...

Better peel these off before hitting the road!!

After removing the stickers and checking out, Damian discovered that Booger Mobile now only had two gears - first and reverse.  After doubling back to the lunch area, it was decided that the best course of action was for Booger Mobile to be placed on OKA for the trip to Deniliquin, where Damian would hopefully be able to source a replacement/repaired transmission.

The first time in seven esCarpades that Booger Mobile has been on OKA...

Surprisingly comfortable inside though!!  Air conditioning in the back and everything!!

Busses overtook Reg...

Yep, still there.

Reg is able to keep an eye on the trailer with his little rear-view camera.

And back in New South Wales... at least the boys are one state closer to home now!!

Reg overtook oversized loads!

At dinner...

The phones run red hot as the local Deni esCarpadians rang friends and friends of friends to try to locate a replacement transmission for Booger Mobile.

Grant from Courageous Corey, who also had transmission problems - coincidentally very similar to Booger Mobile's issue!!

Back at the motel, Booger Mobile still looks good, even if she's breaking Damian's heart!!

Having located someone to assist, Damian is hopeful that Booger Mobile can be repaired in time to get to Griffith in time for the closing function...  It would be even better if they could arrive in time for the grand parade through Griffith!!

Watch this space…
