Arriving at Dave's secret hideout - a non-descript shed in a non-descript location, Booger Mobile was in safe hands...
Dave got his you-beaut timing light out to try to work out why the timing was so bad... It must be a good timing light - it's chrome!!
Damian was to move Booger Mobile into the shed - if there was room beneath the hoist...
Not looking promising...
Sooooo close... but no cigar!!
Back outside, the air cleaner was removed, to find that the little pop-up idle hat thingy was being held down by the o-ring that Jason had glued down with the blue-goo... any wonder the damn thing wouldn't idle!!
Damian had a look at the angle of the dangle for the accelerator cable... sheesh... any wonder it wouldn't return back nicely...
Dave set about removing the tappet cover so he could reset the tappets - one was slightly noisy, and being a perfectionist, Dave just wasn't happy!!
Damian set about removing the accelerator cable and the custom mount for it.
At this stage, Damian headed off, leaving Dave to weave his magic... Upon returning later, Damian found that Dave had resolved the accelerator cable issue, adjusted the tappets to quieten them down, and timed the engine as best he could. The newly rebuilt carby simply isn't providing enough fuel to the engine, so Damian is going to have to take it back to the place that did the work, so that they can rectify the issue... whether that's different sized jets, tweaking, poking, throwing a tantrum, only time will tell...
The saga continues... stay tuned!!
