Scrutineering Items and front spring removal...

Another Sunday, another weekend where Jason is away working in Cairns...  Damian had to make a move on the scrutineering checklist items, so he headed up to the shed where Booger Mobile was waiting patiently for him.

First step - remove the bash plate (that was put on for scrutineering).

Next step, replace the transmission mount...  it's where the nut has been removed already - this is going to be interesting!!

There's the new transmission mount, with the removed nut (and washer).

Comparison, old versus new...

Damian gave Jordan the camera to get a few pictures... he went crazy!!  Here's a selection...  Damian under the driver's side of the car...

Same side, looking from the front...

Under the passenger side of the car...

Still under the passenger side, asking if Jordan has taken enough photos yet!!

And the transmission mount is installed!!

Jordan took this nice close up...

Time to sort out the idler arm bush... jack up the front...

There's the idler arm, still installed...

And removed!!  Looks in pretty good condition still, however the bush will still be replaced!

There's the new bush, with the old one...

Next step, remove the front suspension...  Jack up the control arms so the strut is compresses (to make attaching the spring compressors easier).

There's the driver's side strut tower... must remove that too!!

And one spring is out...

That's where it came from!!

Through the magic of the interwebs, both springs are removed...

Booger Mobile waits for new springs...

Finally Booger Mobile is going to get some new (2 inch taller) springs on the front... but where from?  Damian is chasing up a couple of leads already, but if you have a spring shop and want to throw some springs towards Booger Mobile, give Damian a call or email as per the details at the top of the blog!!
