Camp Quality Senior Sibs Camp - 2012

The first camp Damian attended in 2012 was the Senior Sibs camp from 18 to 20 May.  This camp theme was the Amazing Race... The day started at the Roma Street Parklands...

Followed by a race around Brisbane... well, not so much of a race, as a gentle stroll with challenges and questions to answer along the way!!

There were a bunch of campers lined up for a photo with this nice officer's partner... he thought it was hilarious that his mate was in a photo.  Of course, camp rules don't allow that photo to be uploaded, but Damian's response was "Don't think you are missing out on a photo!!"

Artwork in the Queen Street Mall...

Don't be fooled by the size... this is a companion!!  Dan the Man checking out some of the ball sculptures in Brisbane Square (outside the Treasury Casino).  They are made from old vegetable steamer/colander type things!

An eagle... maybe not the same angle that everyone else took the photo from!!

And one from the boring angle...

Past this historic old building...

Into the Botanic Gardens, where one of the kids gave Damian some interesting sherbert/lollie type thing...

After lunch, the adventure continued...

Across the Goodwill Bridge to South Bank...

And even a ride on the Brisbane Eye!!

No leaning on clouds!!  (Hey, should that bolt be loose?)

At camp, one of the new companions Wayne brought out some LED fire twirlers...

The kids had to make some words to describe their day using play-doh...

The next day, lots of interesting activities kicked off... One of Damian's campers did this awesome spray-painting canvas...

Some of the kids painted Dunlop Volley shoes...

Another of Damian's campers gave his shoes to his sister to paint... perhaps he should have been more specific!!

Getting ready for the disco with Dave...

Putting our best feet forward!!

What camp would be complete without a hug from a Wookie?

At the secret disco location, there were balloons...

And a lollie buffet!!

After the disco, everyone was treated to an ice-cream at Maccas... You reckon that they had minor heart failure when two busses pulled up outside?

On the final day of camp, it was time for go-karting!!

Phil and Geoff the bus drivers were keen to have a go...

There goes Phil!!

So that is a brief rundown of what went on at Senior Sibs camp in 2012.  This is why Team Booger Mobile continue to fundraise with all their might, so that kids living with cancer and their families can have these experiences.

If you want to be involved with Camp Quality, sign up... it's a whole lot of fun!!

Tail lights part 2

With a public holiday (and one of his kids birthdays) to enjoy, Damian set about spending some time with Booger Mobile while cooking a camp oven outside the shed, performing the same earth-addition to the driver's side tail light as he did for the passenger side.

It really wasn't required, but he didn't want the lights to be jealous of each other...

Tail light out... (dust to clean... again)

Even more dusty on this side...

And inside... sheesh... how dusty are these roads???

One soldered on additional earth wire...  This one was far more annoying to solder than the first one.

And back in and working.

Coming up in a couple of weeks is Damian's first camp for the year... stay tuned for that blog!!

2012 Camp Quality Supper Club

Not car related, but again in 2012, the boys at Team Booger Mobile have assembled a table of groovers for the Camp Quality Supper Club.  The theme was masquerade!!

Damian and Tricia looking the goods!!

Moo Moo Wine Bar and Grill was the restaurant this year...

Jason and Tracie looking great in their masks...

Tricia showing the hottest way to ride a bull!!

The table inside the Angus room... (Damian played Thunderstruck on his air guitar upon hearing it was the Angus room, thus setting the tone for the evening).

One of the guests, Sonja, had with her a genuine fox shawl/wrap/dooverlacky... it is from pre-1920's and has been passed down through her family for several generations...

Damian tried blue steel with it!!

Damian and Tricia self portrait!!

The limo's arrived, but unbeknownst to the guests, the heavens had opened up outside, and unfortunately the limo was about 50m away...  Tricia showed her grace and poise getting in!!

Arriving at the secret afer party location - the Iceworks at Paddington, the rain had eased and they were greeted by fire twirlers...

Inside, the wine flowed...

While chicks danced inside tubes...

And this gorgeous goddess danced the night away...

As per usual, the night was fantastic.  There were a lot of new faces at the table with the Team Booger Mobile boys, so hopefully that might translate into some new sponsors this year... and if not, the boys are happy to have raised more money for Camp Quality (even if it doesn't go against their fundraising total)!!
