esCarpade 2014 Day -2 - Home to Nyngan

Time to get cracking on the 2014 Camp Quality esCarpade...  Damian was leaving home at 3:30am Qld time...

Actual time of leaving - 3:45am...  dark!!

After collecting Angus, it was time to hit the road...

Out onto the highway...

And byway...

It was a bit nippy...  fog out here in the middle of nowhere!!

Always time for an early morning selfie!!

As the sun rose, it was time...

To head up to Toowoomba!!

Then out the other side!!

Shadow...

Through Milmerran, where there was a snake sculpture!!

More straight roads with trees on the edge...

Meanwhile, Angus did a sterling job of navigating... taking the opportunity for a quick nap!!

Past a harvester...

And some roadworks...

To Goondiwindi...

And downtown...

Heading into NSW!!

Past this slow mover...

And an old train bridge!!

Who said there are no pyramids in Australia???

More roadworks...

Yet more roadworks...

And to Narrabri!!  Time to stop for lunch, but not at the place on the sign!!

BP Narrabri... undercover parking!!

Back on the road...

More straight roads...

This sign warns of stunt trucks, surely?

Having already passed Uranus, it was on to Saturn!!

And on to Gilgandra!!

Out the other side...

Heading towards Warren...

Where you can turn right...

Warren!!  (Wazza to his mates!!)

Onward towards Nyngan...

Train tracks in the middle of nowhere...

Are we there yet?

Yes!!  Nyngan Country Motor Inn...  Booger Mobile had done well...

Dinner and a well-earned scotch at the RSL across the road...

So, 1000km down, 600km to go.  Booger Mobile went superbly well - just a tighten of the new exhaust manifold flange gasket bolts in Goondiwindi (this happens when they heat and cool)...

Tomorrow, Damian and Angus will head to Broken Hill...  Woot!!

  1. Congratulations on your trip! I'm wondering if you still have 6000km to go and not just the 600 you mentioned... possibly a typo. That could be the shortest trip ever lol.
