Damian woke up this morning to find that a blog post had been posted on his wall on Facebook. It was written by Carmen, a prolific photographer, blogger, derby girl and Camp Quality parent, and the subject was Damian himself.
The words that were written were quite possibly some of the nicest things anyone had ever said about Damian, and he read the blog post with tears welling up in his eyes and an overwhelming sense of humility, pride and gratitude. Turns out he really does make a difference in the lives of Camp Quality families...
Read the blog for yourself here: Sometimes heroes don't wear capes (much)
As an aside, the picture of Damian dressed as Captain Underpants is below for your viewing pleasure (or panic)... Modern day super-heroes need their phones!!
And if that wasn't enough, the youtube song that was referenced is below:
The video was for Damian's entry for the Vodafone World of Difference grant for 2010 - out of over 500 applicants he made it to the top 25, before missing the shortlist for the top 10... still a pretty good effort!! Unbelievably, the video has nearly 2800 views!!
A lot of people are asking when the next youtube hit will be made, so maybe Damian will have to get onto that in the near future.
That's it... Damian has nothing else to say, other than wow. Thanks Carmen, your blog post is going straight to the pool room, and will be read over and over.
