Before getting into it, another trip to the shops was in order. First, the boys needed some special rubber glue to attach the door rubbers etc, secondly, a vacuum hose fitting to connect the brake booster to the manifold, and last, but not least, a double flaring tool to rejigger the brake lines!!
After being to plenty of different places looking for a double flaring tool, Damian decided that they must be as rare as unicorn pooh!! Scottie thought this was hilarious...
After finally finding a double flaring tool, the boys headed back to Team Booger Mobile HQ and attempted to double-flare some test pipe... lucky they did this, as the double flaring tool would NOT work on the bundy tube (brake line)!!
After returning the double flaring tool and getting their money back, the boys decided to cut their losses and remove the brake fluid, then the brake lines, to take them to a brake shop during the week...
Damian did his best "mad scientist" pose with the extraction syringe!!
Scottie set to work removing all the silver thin brake lines you can see in the image below...
Meanwhile, Damian installed the vacuum hose (S shaped below).
The tailshafts were collected and the distance measured, ready for the creation of a custom tailshaft...
Damian hung up the brake lines for safe keeping, and will get the double flares put on them during the week, which will hopefully resolve all remaining brake leakage issues...
After that, it was time for Team Booger Mobile to prepare for their first formal outing for 2010 - meeting some of the other esCarpade entrants at the information day...
Scottie put on his best stunned mullet, while Damian demonstrated how to get double chins into a self portrait!!
Ever eager Scottie had a sleep over at Booger Mobile HQ ( did you sleep in the shed with BM?)so that he would be able to get right into the task ahead of them on the Booger Mobile.
ReplyDeleteAnother shopping trip to buy more parts for Booger when will it end.I think it was just a good excuse to go to the car parts shop its a real guys thing to do.
Great pose as a mad scientist Damian shame you weren t wearing a pair of thick rimed black glasses.
Woo hoo another creation for Scottie to work on,the tailshaft none the less can t wait to see it all finished.
What great outfits you choose to wear to the Team information day showing you team colours, way to go guys.Scottie looked real happy to be there but it doen t look as if anyone noticed and he was a real stand out.
Fantastic picture to finish with, but Damian wheres your booger hat?Did you just want to show off your long curly locks. Well all in all a good day even if thing didn t go that well with the work on Booger Mobile but things will come together, and soon booger will be driving under her own steam before you know it.
Well done thank you Damian and Scottie for all that you are doing for "CAMP QUALITY" doing it for the kids
