Dash cover, new air horns, cleaning Booger's head...

Today's blog post brought to you by the ever-absent Jason, from Jason Sheather Plumbing.

First up, install a shiny new set of musical air horns to replace the ones that after two years had decided to give up the ghost.

Damian's friend from Camp Quality Vivien stopped by to lend a hand - she's pretty handy with a soldering iron!!

All fixed!!

Booger's head looked decidedly worse for wear... time for a good clean!!

Damian hooking up the high-pressure sprayer while posing in the background...

Boys will be boys!!

Cleaning...

Vivien had a crack at it also...

And voila!!  Good as new!!

The back of the head was also cleaned...

Next up, trying to put some green felt on the dashboard so that the reflection from the dash doesn't blind Damian while he's driving (and worse, create a nasty blob in the middle of the dashcam videos!!)

Start by attaching it at the top near the windscreen...

Remove the chrome strip along the front of the dash...

And one is replaced...

Removing and refitting the windscreen pillar covers...

Another bit of chrome back on...

The third bit was a bit nasty to get on...

Voila!!  Chrome is back on...  Now to trim!!

Damian found the original end brackets - perfect!!  (He will paint them in due course.)

One part trimmed...

Vivien doing her seamstress impersonation...

Looking good!!

More trimming and poking into place...

One dash, not so shiny!!

Looks awesome, and hopefully is functional!!

Nine days until Damian leaves for esCarpade - hopefully with Jason in tow!!  There are going to be a few blog posts between now and then, so stay tuned!!
