esCarpade 2016 - Day 2 - Jindabyne to Delegate to Lakes Entrance

Waking up in chilly Jindabyne, Booger Mobile was protected from the frost and ice that some cars had by being parked under a tree...  Damian stumbled into accuracy there!!

Warming up cars...

Lined up ready for breakfast and going!

Breakfast...

Followed by Ben's driver briefing, advising of slippery conditions on some of the morning sections.

Looking the goods...

And Adam is behind the wheel!!

Heading onto the road...

And as always, time for a selfie!!

Not much leg room for Damian...

Adam has plenty though!!

Stopping at the lookout for a look (out).

Damian asked Bill from Car 99 to take a picture for him - Bill commented that Damian was too tall, so being a clown, Damian stuck his butt out... of course, this is when Bill took the picture!!

A better angle...

Rock!!

Why are we stopped?

Oh look, a car that has slipped off the slippery section!!

Recovery achieved, time to head back to the car...

Back on the road, sneaking past FAV 2.5.

Dave was briefly trapped in an invisible room...  either that, or he was giving instructions on navigating the slippery section...

Ambos at the ready...

Doesn't look that slippery from this angle, but it was!!

MW2 giving guidance...

And Booger Mobile was through!!

Stalking FAV 2.5... makes a change!!

There were a few cyclists on the mountain roads!!

And plenty of motorcyclists, too...

Welcome to Victoria!!

Another cyclist...

Damian waited all morning just to say "Suggan Buggan River"... go on, give it a try - it's fun!!

Leapfrogging FAV 2.5 again...

Crossing a very high, wooden bridge!

Damian needed a break from the windy roads...

Even out here, the boys couldn't avoid roadworks!!

Legomobile fun stop... pin the nose on the Giggle...

Artistic bubble shot!!

Maybe a future esCarpade car for Holden lovers?

Welcome to New South Wales...

Lunch at the Delegate showgrounds...

Puppets doing their thing...

Pseudo driver briefing advising that the tracks were bad and they were looking for alternate routes - Damian decided that the bitumen was the way to go.

Not every day you see a Lamborghini on a dirt road!!

Back into Victoria again...

Stopped at the scene of a very fresh motorcycle accident...  Team Booger Mobile performed some traffic control duties while the injured rider and his bike were moved off the road, then left the work for the qualified paramedic who was riding with them...

Turns out the "highway" to Orbost is dirt for a long way anyway!!  Just like doing the course!!

Really?  A stop light here?

Car 911 getting a lift to Orbost for repairs...

Once again, Damian's new camera ran out of battery power... the rest of the trip to Lakes Entrance was straight down the highway on the bitumen, and uneventful!!

Stay tuned for dashcam videos if Damian can find them!!

  1. If you snuck past FAV 2.5 at the slippery section, how did they end up in front again, lol?

    1. Thanks Dave... hope you are well!!

Pity the dashcam footage of the muddy section was overwritten (it's on a loop of around 8 hours) due to happening too early in the day...
